We made it to Fairmont, WV

It's Monday morning and we're in Fairmont, WV! We left two days late because of hassles with U-Haul! The "moving adventure" started Thursday morning, March 11! It really started sooner because Leslie packed all of our belongings the last two weeks and on Saturday, March 6 we had a garage sale and sold all of our major items except the TV! Actually keeping the TV is a good thing. One can never have too many TVs! Returning to Thursday, March 11, I left the house at 8am to pick up the U-Haul at Bailey's Crossroads U-Haul. I needed a 12'x6' trailer which is one of the larger ones. They hooked the trailer to my car, did all of the paperwork and plugged in the lights. U-Haul had wired my car when we moved to Virginia so everything should have been good to go! When they tested the lights the turn signals worked and the brake lights worked but there were no taillights!! The U-Haul light mechanic worked on my car for 3 hours, installed a new wiring harness, but could not fix it. I was concerned because I had hired two workers to load the trailer and they had arrive at our house at 9:30am!! Finally, at 11:30am when the worker could not solve the problem, he told be to take the car to my mechanic because I needed a fuse and he couldn't find it! My mechanic looked at the car, told me to bring it in the next day, and commented that with these new cars it may need a light module and those can cost $1,000! Needless to say, I was frustrated! We loaded the trailer (that went well) and then I parked it to unhook the trailer from the car. However, U-Haul failed to tell me that once the 12x16 foot trailer is loaded to your car you should not remove it from the car. Why? Because when you try to unhook the trailer you either need a jack or 6-7 strong people to lift the tongue from the ball! We used a jack, parked it in a visitors stall, and were able to unhook. Would we be able to hook it to the car on Saturday? I wasn't sure!
